Tips To Shrunken Hemorrhoids And Relief

Shrunken hemorrhoids are often the only way to get relief from the painful effects of hemorrhoids. After your doctor diagnoses you with hemorrhoids there is several possible ways to have shrunken hemorrhoids. Your doctor will often help you discuss the best method for shrunken hemorrhoids for your body, but being informed about your options can help you to be active in the decision making process and help you to be prepared with any questions you may want to ask your doctor about shrunken hemorrhoids. Shrunken hemorrhoids and an end of symptoms can happen after taking some over the counter medications and taking certain homeopathic remedies. These types of treatments can range from ointments to suppositories and herbal remedies just depending on the severity of your hemorrhoids and your doctors recommendations. Many cases of hemorrhoids are satisfactorily treated with these products.

In addition to these over the counter treatment methods, shrunken hemorrhoids can result from a few simple lifestyle changes. You can adjust your diet by adding more fiber, eliminating certain foods, drinking more water, avoiding medicines such as aspirin or anti-inflammatory drugs and increasing your physical activity. Doing these things can often greatly help you hemorrhoid symptoms.

The Second Option

If ointments and lifestyle changes that are recommended by your doctor don’t result in shrunken hemorrhoids then the second option is non-surgical treatments. The goals of these treatment methods are to eliminate the flow of blood to the hemorrhoids so that they will shrink from a lack of nourishment. Many of these treatments are performed in the doctor’s office and will support the anal cushions by means of scar tissue so that further hemorrhoids won’t occur.

Some of these non-surgical methods to gain shrunken hemorrhoids include rubber band ligation in which the hemorrhoids are tied off with rubber bands so there is no more blood flow. Another option is coagulation therapy which uses either heat, electric or leaser currents to create the scar tissue. The third option is sclerotherapy which uses chemicals to inject directly into the hemorrhoid causing them to shrink.

The Final Option

In the most severe cases of hemorrhoids they can only be successfully treated through surgical options. Severe hemorrhoid cases do not happen often, but there is the chance of them occurring. The surgical option is only done with profuse bleeding or pus draining from the anus which is a medical emergency. Other times the procedure will be done if the hemorrhoid is so large that it causes a negative effect on an individual’s lifestyle and other methods have caused shrunken hemorrhoids. The surgery is known as hemorrhoidecotmy and is usually done for internal hemorrhoids only.
